In this episode of Team Friendship Reads the Newberys we discuss the 2017 Newbery Medal winner The Girl Who Drank the Moon by Kelly Barnhill. Themes of truth, knowledge, power, sorrow, joy and hope are woven throughout this book. It was no surprise to us when we learned that Kelly is also a teacher. Her use of literary devices such as perspective and metaphor to tell us this heartwarming story make this book an excellent resource for the classroom!
